Growing up in Southern California, traveling to the magical land of Anahiem, was essential! Visiting Disneyland, we always had an order. First was Space Mountain (since it was usually the longest line and we had more patience at the beginning of the day) and then next was straight across to the Haunted Mansion. There we were greeted by the haunted mansion attendants wearing costumes that were in green stripes made to look like servants.

Not the official attendants but wearing duplicate outfits often seen outside of the mansion and pictures with the Hatbox Ghost

I loved reading the cemetery wall names in the line and the crowding together in a small room as it stretched to reveal the cute horror of the way each of the portraits met their untimely doom.

As the elevator opens, you are guided down a dark hallway of windows and doors and if you look closely, the wallpaper is purple with creepy eyes. Based on this memory, I drew my own version of a creepy demask fabric.

With a little extra finessing, I thought a retro dress with the demask fabrics and green stripes would be the perfect tribute! I love the idea of disneybounding which you can get for yourself here.

Disneybound Haunted Dress by HD Retro Clothing

If you haven’t heard of disneybounding, it came about as a way to dress up like disney without actually wearing a full costume as costumes are not aloud to be worn by adults in the part for safety of the children and other guests. But how could I make this dress without finding the perfect ghostly accessory? I started by painting in acrylic my very own spooky ghost for a hat box of my own.

After a little of fun experimenting I was able to transform my ghostly painting into a mini version on the perfect matching purse that you can preorder here!
